As a first-generation student and founding president of the University’s Muslim Student Association, I am passionate about ensuring all students feel a sense of belonging at the University. I am looking forward to working with the organization to host more events for my classmates during the upcoming academic year that will foster diversity and inclusion.

This year, Founders Day was particularly meaningful, as it was a fun and engaging way for the University community to safely come together to commemorate the University’s 101st birthday, as well as celebrate our resilience and Charger pride.

The coronavirus global pandemic presented many challenges during the fall semester, but it taught me many things about myself, including how to manage my schoolwork, the economic impact of the pandemic, and the importance of my support network at the University.

I was excited to explore the University’s new Bergami Center for the first time, and I came away impressed by the collaborative spaces and cutting-edge technology it offers, as well as the way the building commemorates the University’s past, present, and future.
