Chancellor and CEO
Dr. Steven H. Kaplan, who joined the University of New Haven in 2004, leading it through a period of remarkable growth and development, building it into one of the top universities in the region, resulting in record enrollments and fundraising success, was named the University’s first Chancellor and CEO on July 1, 2022.
The Chancellor and CEO oversees the institution's overall financial results and operational performance, as well as principal-level fundraising, strategic partnerships, and Board relations. The Chancellor and CEO reports to the University’s Board of Governors and provides direct oversight for the Interim President and members of the senior administration.
Sheahon Zenger, Ph.D.
Dr. Sheahon Zenger, who joined the University of New Haven in 2019 as director of athletics and recreation, was named Interim President on July 1, 2022, as part of an innovative leadership transition planned designed to build upon the University’s rich success and to position it for continued long-term growth.
The Interim President is the public-facing community leader of the University, overseeing many of the day-to-day operations and interfacing with the student community, with additional areas of responsibility including University branding, revenue generation, and the implementation of the "A Bold Path Forward: 2026" Strategic Plan.
