Graduate Certificates
The Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences offers the following graduate certificates designed as options for persons having a baccalaureate degree, or a master's degree, who want to enroll in a part-time, short, coherent course of study at the graduate level. Persons who may not yet be ready to commit to a full-length graduate program, as well as those who already hold a graduate degree but want to pursue additional work in the same or another field, may find that a certificate provides the perfect alternative. Students applying to enter a graduate certificate program must complete the graduate school application form and submit official transcripts showing completion of the undergraduate/baccalaureate degree along with two letters of recommendation.

Animal Cruelty Investigation Certificate
Students in this certificate will undertake courses in the link between animal cruelty and interpersonal violence, animal cruelty investigations and the application of forensic science to these investigations. All four courses are taken online and in four sequential accelerated terms.

Civil Rights and Title IX Investigations
This 12-credit certificate includes courses in civil rights investigations, intelligence analytics, and Title IX and predator investigations.

Compliance Investigations
This 12-credit certificate includes courses in regulation and occupational fraud, money laundering, and Banking Secrecy Act and compliance investigations.

Corporate Investigations
The corporate investigations certificate is comprised of three required courses and an elective from any INVS course offering. Students should discuss elective courses with their advisor.

Criminal Investigations
The criminal investigations certificate is comprised of three required courses and an elective from an approved list of electives. Students should discuss elective courses with their advisor.

Criminal Justice Management
This certificate teaches specific skills to professionals in the criminal justice management field. Courses emphasize the application of modern management principles and practices to the field of criminal justice.

Cybercrime Investigation
The graduate certificate program in cybercrime investigation is comprised of two required courses and two electives. Students should discuss courses with their advisor. Online only.

Digital Forensic Investigation
The graduate certificate program in digital forensic investigation is comprised of two required courses and two electives. Students should discuss courses with their advisor. Online only.

The elder and child protective services investigations certificate is comprised of four required courses.

Emergency Management
Disaster losses are increasing in the United States. Disasters are, and will continue to be, a growth business. The surrounding social, economic, political, and bureaucratic contexts within which Emergency Management operates has also become more complicated, requiring more sophisticated engagement.

Financial Crimes Investigation
The graduate certificate program in financial crimes investigation is comprised of one main required course and three electives. The three electives can be focused areas of study or a broader open selection that explore multiple areas of financial crimes investigations. Students should discuss courses with their advisor. Online only.

Forensic Genetic Genealogy
This online graduate certificate provides individuals in either the public or private sector with the foundational concepts and application of both genetic genealogy and traditional genealogy to forensic investigations. This can include but is not limited to criminal, civil, and family history investigations. All courses are online and offered in 4 sequential accelerated term formats (i.e. 7.5 weeks).

Healthcare Fraud Investigations
This 12-credit certificate includes courses in healthcare fraud investigations, anatomy of healthcare fraud, and electronic files and healthcare fraud.

Information Protection and Security
This 12-credit certificate prepares individuals for the responsibilities of protecting agency or corporate information systems. The basics of information systems security as well as the legal issues and cyberresponse strategies are reviewed.

National Security
For students who may not be ready to commit to a full-length graduate program, or for those who already hold a master’s degree but wish to pursue additional work in the area of national security, this 12-credit graduate certificate provides an alternative.

This certificate is intended for individuals seeking to start a new nonprofit, expand an existing nonprofit, and/or hold leadership roles within nonprofit organizations.

For those in public service, this certificate focuses on the analytic, quantitative, administrative and managerial knowledge and skills needed to meet the complex problems and responsibilities of government agencies and organizations.

Security, Risk and Resiliency
This 12-credit certificate includes courses in regulation and occupational fraud, contemporary topics in security and loss prevention, intelligence analytics, and global perspectives of multinational private sector security.

Sports Integrity Investigations
U.S. and international sports face an unprecedented wave of corruption, money-laundering, organized crime, doping, gambling-related crime, and sexual/physical abuse. This program gives students the ability to recognize and combat these forms of corruption.

Trafficking in Persons Investigations
The Trafficking In Persons Investigations certificate program covers investigations in human trafficking, technology used, and analysis of cases. There are three required courses plus one elective for this certificate.

Transnational Cybersecurity
This 12-credit, four-course certificate focuses on examination of transnational cyber security systems, policy, and problem solving, and how these relate to national security issues.

Victim Advocacy and Service Management
This 12-credit certificate is designed for professionals who work with crime victims. Students develop advanced knowledge and skill in working as victim advocates and victim services managers.

Wildlife & Environmental Crimes Investigations
This 12-credit certificate is taught in conjunction with ManchesterCF to provide training to combat environmental and wildlife crimes, from smuggling to poaching, used by international crime organizations and terrorist groups.
