Department of Public Administration

The Division of Government and Public Service has three minors available to undergraduate students: Fire Science, National Security, and Public Administration.

Qualified undergraduate students can explore dual degree programs leading to a Master of Public Administration or a Master of Science in National Security. Students who apply Direct Entry will be accepted to their undergraduate program of choice and receive a conditional acceptance to their chosen master's degree program. Admission to the graduate program is subject to completing undergraduate coursework with satisfactory academic progress. Most Direct Entry programs are designed to be completed in five calendar years.

Our 100% Online Master of Public Administration (MPA) teaches critical skills in budgeting, planning, policy formulation, public finance, personnel administration, collective bargaining, and more. The University of New Haven profoundly understands how to support and grow the future leaders of governments and nonprofits.

The Division of Government and Public Service offers several graduate certificates, designed as options for persons having a baccalaureate degree, or a master's degree, who want to enroll in a part-time, short, coherent course of study at the graduate level.

Micro-credentials give you the chance to acquire new skills and competencies and can open additional careers doors for you. With no major commitment of either time or finances, a micro-credential is an opportunity with a return on investment that can last a lifetime. The Division of Government and Public Service offers a micro-credential in Public School Financial Management and Public School Operations. Our courses are geared to individuals interested in becoming School Business Officials, or people just interested in increasing their knowledge of school business operations.
