When scientists wanted to produce more wheat per acre to help feed the world’s starving, they hybridized the plant to have a bigger seed head.

When they wanted to create an anti-lymphoma vaccine, they used tobacco plants carrying RNA from cloned malignant B-cells. Flowers that are bigger and better perfumed? Not a problem. Biotechnology creates some of the wonders of the world. The goal of our biotechnology program is to make you a part of that wondrous work.

Put simply, biotechnology uses technical advances to modify living organisms for human purposes. The two areas advancing right now at a mind-boggling pace are biotechnology and biopharmaceuticals.  Our program integrates courses in biochemistry, genetics, and cellular and molecular biology.  With the knowledge and skill sets you gain in this program, you’ll be superbly qualified for these exciting fields.
