The School of Health Sciences is focused on providing you with the knowledge, skills and experiences that are necessary to prepare you for the 21st century healthcare workforce.
We focus on providing you with interdisciplinary training that allows you understand how healthcare organizations work and your future role in those organizations and in the broader healthcare industry. We also provide you practice in key healthcare skills such as teamwork, data analysis, oral and written communication and more.
A dental hygienist does much more than clean and polish teeth. By helping to prevent cavities and gum disease, dental hygienists guard their patients’ overall health. Gum disease can lead to serious heart problems, for instance.
Our B.S. in exercise science enables you to develop expertise in the field’s most advanced technology through practical experiences in our state-of-the-art recreational and athletics facilities.
Health sciences is an interdisciplinary field that includes the natural sciences, the social and behavioral sciences, humanities, technology and organizational science as applied to human health and the delivery of healthcare.
Medical laboratory scientists are educated to work in clinical chemistry, hematology, immunohematology, immunology, and microbiology with various sub-specialties in each of those major areas.
The School of Health Sciences offers both associate and bachelor's degrees in Paramedicine, and our emphasis on anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology provides students with the tools needed to address basic and advanced pre-hospital medicine both today and in the future.
Paramedicine, B.S. with a minor in Fire Science is also offered in partnership with the Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences.
Created specifically for paramedics certified through the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, this degree completion program enables candidates to earn their bachelor’s degree while applying 56 credits of advanced standing from their NREMT certification.
Our B.S. in Public Health program prepares students to enter this field by providing them with a foundation in epidemiology, biostatistics, social and behavioral sciences, healthcare administration, and environmental health as well as the strategic thinking, administrative, planning, data collection and analysis, and communication skills that employers value highly and which lay the foundation for a lifetime of career success.
