Dear Members of the University Community,

I am writing to tell you I have informed Board of Governors Chair Charles Pompea that I have made the decision to retire from full-time University service at the conclusion of the 2022-23 academic year and begin a long-planned sabbatical and retirement. Upon much reflection and following many discussions with my wife, Anemone, and our family, I concluded that this is the right choice for me at this time in my life, both personally and professionally. Having come to this conclusion, I still intend to accomplish a great deal over the next year to ensure an even stronger future for the University, and I look forward to our continuing work together.

I am fully committed to assisting Dr. Zenger throughout the next year and beyond, if needed. Throughout his time at the University, Dr. Zenger has proven to be a capable and visionary leader who deserves our wholehearted support.

I thank you for all you do for the University and our students.

With best wishes,
