Professor's Expert Analysis Featured in Time Magazine

Stoffer is a former senior foreign service officer in the U.S. Department of State and a former director of counterterrorism at the United Nations.

At the University of New Haven, he teaches classes on homeland security and terrorism and is teaching a special topics course this semester about weapons of mass destruction. In the spring, he will teach a class that will examine the development of the United Nations.

Previously, he joined with a Russian affairs expert and a former United States congressman to co-teach a course that featured an intensive role-playing project in which students simulated the roles global leaders have in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.

They found that the alliance process in order to reach a unified position requires a great deal more work than they ever thought it would," said Stoffer. "This is what experiential educational is all about.
