UNH’s Peter Massey Named Among Best Forensic Science Professors in Nation

"Crime scene investigators have an impact out in the field," said Barry Franklin, chief editor and owner of ForensicsColleges.com. Massey worked for 20 years as a police officer with the Hamden, Conn., Department of Police Services, where he received many commendations. He investigated crime scenes ranging from assaults to robberies to suspicious deaths. After his retirement, he became the training coordinator for the National Crime Scene Training and Technology Center at the Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science, based at UNH.

Massey is a member of several professional organizations, has traveled extensively to give talks, and acts as an expert witness. He is working on a doctoral degree in criminal justice at UNH.

Two others on the list of the top 15 have UNH ties. Kim Duddy, who received an M.S. in forensic science from UNH in 1988, works with the Southern Police Institute at the University of Louisville teaching law enforcement professionals about homicide investigations. And Marilyn Miller, of Virginia Commonwealth University, worked in law enforcement agencies in Florida, North Carolina and Pennsylvania and is a former member of the UNH faculty.
