Classes for Tuesday, February 24, 2026 Will Transition to Online/Remote Classes
The West Haven area has received a significant snowfall with 16 inches of snow already on the ground. Due to this and the extensive campus clean-up operations that will need to take place: All in-person day and evening classes scheduled for Tuesday, February 24, 2026 will transition to being held online or remotely..
Campus operations for residential students will be modified based on expected conditions. Separate messages will be sent from various offices and departments regarding changes to normal hours of operation. Current students, faculty, and staff can find the latest information about operations on myCharger (login required).
Only essential employees, as previously determined by their respective department leaders, should report to campus. All other employees should fulfill the requirements of their role remotely.
Residential students should be prepared to move their vehicles, if requested, for snow removal operations. If you are parked on a public street in West Haven, please move your vehicle off-street as a snow parking ban has been issued prohibiting vehicles from parking on all public streets. A list of off-street parking lots can be found on the City of West Haven’s website.

Lindsey Kim is helping to plan College Night on Broadway
This semester, I am completing an internship with The Shops at Yale. I am charged with helping to market the shops and restaurants in downtown New Haven, and I also promote the events that they host.
My internship is enjoyable, and it is something that I can see myself doing in the future. Working with The Shops at Yale has taught me so much, since it is a very hands-on experience. I am getting to take part in real-life experiences and apply what I have learned in the classroom to my duties as an intern.
So far, I have been given a variety of different projects that enable me to develop different skill sets. I am currently working to promote College Night – which will take place on Thursday, April 4, from 4 to 9 p.m. – specifically to University of New Haven students. College Night is an event that is free for all college and university students in Connecticut. It aims to bring students to downtown New Haven to explore all that the shops and restaurants have to offer.
Students who attend College Night will receive exclusive discounts of up to 30 percent off, and there will be free food, prizes, games, and activities. This event, which takes place once every spring and fall, is a great way for students to explore the shops and restaurants downtown while connecting with the local community, as well as their own classmates and students who attend nearby schools.
The event will take place on Broadway Island at 56 Broadway (across from Apple New Haven). I hope to see you there.
