Study Abroad in Prato, Italy for the Fall 2022 Semester

Dear Students and Faculty,

I am pleased to inform you that the registration for the Fall 2022 semester at our campus in Prato, Italy, is open, and travel details have been confirmed.

The plan is for students to arrive in Prato on August 25, with classes starting on August 29. Students will return to the United States on November 19 and complete the semester and final exams remotely from their homes. The duration of the time in Italy will be approximately 87 days.

Similar to Connecticut, throughout the United States and across the globe, Italy is returning to normal activities, including tourism and study abroad. This development enables us to offer signature curricular and co-curricular opportunities that have become staples of this authentic and immersive Italian experience.

The University requires that all students who will study at the Prato Campus in Fall 2022 have received the COVID-19 vaccine – including having received a booster dose – before departure. This is critical to helping safeguard student health and ensuring the success of the many academic co-curricular components of the semester. The policies regarding COVID-19 are subject to change, and we will update interested individuals as necessary. As always, protecting the health and well-being of our community while abroad is our paramount priority.

As the more than 1,000 students who have studied at our Prato campus since it opened in 2012 can attest, the opportunity to spend time living in and learning about a new culture can be a transformational experience. Above all, we are committed to ensuring that the students who travel to Prato for the Spring 2022 semester have a rewarding and safe experience.
