The University has begun a robust program of renovations and new construction that will revolutionize the central campus and enrich our community in countless ways.
"This program of renovations and new construction is re-envisioning the campus to reflect the entire student experience —one built into classrooms, housing, and social spaces, as well as the ways in which members of the University community, guests, and visitors move through and around the campus," says Chancellor and CEO Steve Kaplan.
This 44,000-square-foot, three-story building will house engineering and science labs, a 3D visualization technology suite, collaborative classrooms, and studios for the Communication, Film, and Media Studies Department. A soaring, light-filled atrium will serve as a mini-student union.

The Peterson Performance Center (PPC) will totally transform the way our students train and will provide all of our student athletes with the best weight lifting and rehab equipment available in what will be one of the top training facilities in the Northeast. In addition, the construction of the PPC will open up much needed space within the Jeffery P. Hazell Athletic Center (formerly Charger Gymnasium) to construct new team locker rooms for every sport.

Our parking programs are being reimagined to increase capacity and efficiency. We will be rerouting both short-term and long-term parking in order to ensure campus safety, and we will be enhancing our shuttle service.

Classrooms, laboratories and clinical space are being constructed at the former One Care Lane facility located at the south edge of campus. As part of the phased renovation of this 38,000 square foot building, the University has created new hospital room simulation labs, para medicine, phlebotomy, and occupational therapy labs as well all teaching and support space. A second phase has recently started to include the addition of speech, nutrition and dietetics as well as Med Science labs. Future plans include additional clinical spaces in support of the School of Health Sciences.
We are also making significant upgrades to Dodds Hall, including renovations to our biology laboratories, as well as renovations to our residence halls and athletics facilities that will enrich the experience for our student-athletes and our fans.
The former headquarters of Hubbell Incorporated in Orange, Conn., is now the University of New Haven’s signature campus for graduate business education. Located adjacent to the Wilbur Cross Parkway, the campus’s all-business atmosphere offers a distraction-free setting and a plethora of corporate amenities. It includes more than 70,000 square feet of space on 47 secluded wooded acres. It is home to the Executive MBA and MBA programs, as well as the University’s master’s degree in sport management. The facility features state-of-the-art technology, classrooms, meeting rooms, and a cafeteria that are all designed to reflect the atmosphere of working boardrooms of leading corporations.

Named for renowned forensic scientist Dr. Henry C. Lee, the Lee Institute’s ultra-modern facility, located in Gehring Hall, opened in 2010. It is a contemporary teaching, research, and training facility for students studying forensic science, criminal justice, national security, and related fields. It features a crime-scene simulation center, a high-tech forensic room, a crisis-management center, three classrooms, and a forensic learning center. It also includes the latest in virtual instruction and touch screen technology to bring in-depth information regarding various areas of forensic science to students and professionals from around the world.

The University’s Tuscany campus is located in a fully renovated, former 16th century convent on one of the most beautiful community squares in Prato, a archetypal Italian city brimming with medieval European architecture and colorful piazzas. Unspoiled by tourism and strong on tradition, Prato is just 20 minutes by train from Florence, thought by many to be the art capital of the world. The University of New Haven’s state-of-the-art broadcast studio, control room, and editing suites, opened in 2017, are part of a newly renovated Communication & Media Center, a bustling hub of media activity, where our students get to experience the communications industry in action – both in front of the camera and behind the scenes.
The set, featuring industry-grade lighting and the latest in permanent and portable digital equipment, serves as the New Haven news bureau of Fox 61, offering students a chance to be active participants in the process of news gathering and news production.

The David A. Beckerman Recreation Center is a comprehensive 56,500 square-foot athletic building featuring fitness studios and a fitness center; racquetball courts, hardwood activity courts for basketball, volleyball, floor/roller hockey, and badminton; a jogging track; and locker rooms. The Center, which opened in 2008, is used by a majority of the undergraduate and graduate student body and welcomed its one millionth visitor in 2016.

Opened in August 2014, the 90,000-square foot Westside Hall is the University’s newest student residence. It includes a 250-seat dining room (and outdoor dining space) featuring made-to-order gourmet food, a common lounge with a fireplace, music practice rooms, and 2,300-square feet of classrooms. The upper three floors feature "pods" of rooms centered on common living-learning spaces. A portion of Westside sits atop a 70-space indoor parking garage topped with artificial turf and live plantings. The building is LEED-silver certified.

The first "green" residence hall at the University of New Haven, Celentano hall, opened in 2009, is the University’s largest student residence. With sweeping views of both Long Island Sound and downtown New Haven, it features four- or six-person apartments with two bathrooms, a kitchen, and living area, all with central air conditioning. A common room with a 52-inch flat screen TV is located on every floor. In 2014, Celentano Hall was equipped with the University’s first solar power system, which produces enough energy to power 12 homes. The building is LEED-gold certified.

Opened in 2004, Bergami Hall is a suite-style residence hall for first-year and sophomore students. Each suite offers two oversized bedrooms joined together by a bathroom for six students, and there are three common rooms located on each floor. It also features a WoW Café (World of Wings), a Sandella’s sandwich shop, and a Dunkin’ Donuts. It overlooks Zolad Stadium, making the residence hall rooms an ideal spot to watch Division II soccer and lacrosse, and club sports games.

Officially dedicated in 2009 upon the return of the University’s football program following a five-year hiatus, DellaCamera Stadium features a visually stunning blue and gold sprinturf and a seating capacity of 4,500. It is home to the Chargers football and field hockey programs.

Located in the heart of the University of New Haven campus, Kathy Zolad Stadium is the home of the Chargers men's and women's soccer teams and the women's lacrosse team, as well as club sports and various outdoor recreation activities. It features a sprinturf playing surface, a press box, and a seating capacity of 400. The facility received a $1.3 million upgrade prior to the 2007 fall season, and bleachers and a press box were added prior to the 2010 fall season.
