Eileen Eder

Eileen Eder is an award winning artist that specializes in still-life and landscape painting.


Mrs. Eder exhibits her work in Connecticut and New York galleries as well as national juried shows. She is a Signature member the Connecticut Academy of Fine Art and Hudson Valley Art Association, Elected member of Lyme Art Association and member of the Salmagundi Club and Oil Painters of America. As an instructor, Mrs. Eder currently teaches at the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts and the Lyme Art Association as well as privately. She has previously taught at Sacred Heart University, Gateway Community College, Yale British Art Museum, and as an instructor and department head at Creative Arts Workshop.

Community Service

Mrs. Eder joined the University of New Haven Board of Governors in 2014. She is a member of the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts Board of Trustees and the Director of the Shoreline ArtsTrail. Mrs. Eder is a former board member of Artspace in New Haven and the International Festival of Arts and Ideas.


Mrs. Eder earned a BFA from Albertus Magnus College and an MFA from the New York Academy of Art.


Mrs. Eder resides in Guilford, Conn. with her husband Andrew who is Chairman of Eder Brothers Inc. Their son, Wesley, is a 2010 graduate of the University of New Haven’s Executive MBA program and their daughter, Stacey Smith, is a 2010 graduate of the University of New Haven’s master’s degree program in education.
