Josephine Moran is President and Chief Banking Officer, Ledyard Financial Group.

Expertise

Ms. Moran is the President and Chief Banking Officer of Ledyard Financial Group. She is also the president and founder of JM Fit for Life. Her company provides financial wellness and executive leadership empowerment, coaching, counseling, and facilitation to women, couples, small businesses, and organizations. She is a master certified life coach and a certified financial wellness facilitator, executive coach, keynote speaker and licensed advisor. Additionally, Ms. Moran is the owner of Send Me a Trainer Northern Fairfield, a leading provider of on-demand personal fitness. She previously served as executive vice president, chief corporate services and consumer lending officer at Provident Bank. At Provident, Ms. Moran provided leadership and direction to the bank's retail branch network, retail sales administration, retail sales training, consumer and residential lending, small business and investment services. She also developed and managed the execution of the retail banking group's overall strategy and business development plans. As a member of the Bank's executive management team, Ms. Moran contributed to the attainment of the bank's business plan goals and the refinement of the bank's strategic direction. Prior to joining Provident in 2018, she was a senior vice president for Webster Bank and director of retirement services and regional manager for Webster Investments. In this capacity, she led a large team of financial consultants and financial associates with more than $1.6 billion in assets, directed the Webster Investment Services Retirement Plan Services Program, and led the robo-advisory and call center programs. Previously, she was executive vice president and regional president of Metro New York and Northern New Jersey for Santander Bank, N.A., and was responsible for all retail banking activities in the market. Ms. Moran also previously served as the community banking president and a senior vice president for Wachovia, a Wells Fargo company. Ms. Moran was named one of the 10 Best Women Leaders of 2020 by Industry Era Magazine and as an ROI-NJ Influencer: Women in Business 2021. She was also named one of the "Top Women in Business" in Staten Island in 2015.

Community Service

Ms. Moran was elected to the University of New Haven’s Board of Governors in January 2019 and currently serves on the Finance Committee. She is chair of the University of New Haven’s Pompea College of Business Advisory Board and has been a member since 2013. She is also the chair of the University of New Haven's Women's Leadership Council. Ms. Moran serves on the board of the YWCA of Union County and is an advisory council member for the Women’s Business Collaborative, an alliance of national professional women’s organizations working together to achieve equal pay, position, and power for all business women. She previously served as a board member for EverWonder Children’s Museum and the Waterbury Business Women’s Forum.

Education

Ms. Moran earned her bachelor's degree in marketing and management from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 1986 and holds a master's degree in finance and financial planning from the University of New Haven. She has earned her Series 7 and Series 63 licenses from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and acquired a CFP certificate from Quinnipiac University. She earned her Executive MBA at the University of New Haven in 2019. In 2018, she was selected for honorary membership in the University of New Haven's chapter of the Beta Gamma Sigma international honor society.

Personal

Ms. Moran is a resident of Newtown, Connecticut, and she is the parent of a University of New Haven alumnus.
