UNH Dental Hygiene Students Win First Place at New England Competition
University of New Haven dental hygiene students won first place at the poster session
competition at the 40th annual Yankee Dental Congress, the fifth largest dental meeting in the United States.

The competition took place earlier this month in Boston.
The competition is designed for student research investigators who exhibit potential
for a productive career in the oral health field.
Eight presentations were selected; UNH was represented by two student groups.
First place in the competition went to UNH students Kirsten Blanc, of Prospect, Conn.;
Jessica Brooks, of Bristol, Conn., and Jennifer Roth, of Middlefield, Conn., presenting
"Oral Diseases: Kiss Them Goodbye." They will receive a cash award that will be presented
to them in March at the Harvard Club in Cambridge, Mass.
Also, attending the conference were Marwah Afeef, of New Haven, Conn.; Marissa Broggi,
of East Cannan, Conn., and Rachel Seggerman, of Cheshire, Conn., presenting "Recruiting
Regulatory T Cells to Help Fight Periodontal Disease."
