News 12 Connecticut: Gov. Lamont signs new protections for kids on social media

Vahid Behzadan, associate professor of cybersecurity, data science, and computer and electrical engineering; director of the SAIL Lab; and co-founder of the Connecticut Artificial Intelligence Alliance, was among the speakers as Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont signed new regulations impacting kids’ use of social media and AI. “The bill the governor is about to sign is, in my opinion, the most thoughtful piece of AI legislation I have seen from any state in this country. It does not freeze technology in place. It establishes something that we have been missing – accountability without paralysis.”
