Hannah & Maggie Album Released by UNH’s Purebred Records

"In The Company of Strangers" will be released on Feb. 25 by Purebred, a record label created and managed by UNH students. The album was recorded over the last year primarily in the University of New Haven’s Studio B, with Andrew Kinzie ’13 as sound engineer.

Hannah & Maggie are a singer/songwriting due from New York City. They have been favorably compared to Simon & Garfunkel and The Indigo Girls, yet have originality and a unique sound. The duo is noted for blending traditional folk music with a modern-day melodic energy, according to the cover of the album.

Hannah & Maggie have two previous two studio albums to their credit and are touring in New York and New Jersey, appearing at the Bitter End in New York City on Feb. 20. Emilio Sanchez ’26, a native of Mexico, a graduate student in sport management, and a graduate assistant with ChargerREC, shared his background living across the globe in China, Singapore, Spain, and the U.S. Jess talked about her family’s passion for New Haven apizza, and Emilio gave an inside look at his experiences in and out of the classroom, including an upcoming sales competition he’ll be part of. “The opportunities that are being offered at this University is something that I have never experienced,” said Emilio.
