About Alanna

Alanna Lavelle is a Senior Principal at MITRE Corporation, supporting Program Integrity portfolios, providing counsel and direction on initiatives to combat fraud, waste, and abuse in government programs. Prior to joining MITRE, she spent 10 years as Director of Special Investigations for Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield’s commercial and government programs, combatting healthcare fraud.

Prior to that, Ms. Lavelle spent 25 years as a Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, (FBI) where she managed criminal investigations of complex healthcare fraud and other criminal matters, as well as leading a Joint Terrorism Task Force in Georgia in the post 9-11 era. She is an accomplished FBI Crisis Negotiator, Profiler and Undercover Agent.

Alanna is an Adjunct Faculty at the University of New Haven in the Dr. Henry C Lee Criminal Forensics Department, teaching courses on Healthcare Fraud and Human Trafficking Analytics and Investigations.
