What Physicians Do

Physicians diagnose, treat, and prevent illness in many specialties and settings. They work with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Pathway At A Glance

Undergraduate degree and required preparation → medical school (MD or DO) → residency training → optional fellowship

Build a strong science foundation; develop clinical, service, teamwork, and communication experience; explore research when it fits the student’s goals; meet with HPAC for planning.
