About Chris

Chris Barone is a senior engineering and operations executive with more than 37 years of leadership experience in product innovation, engineering, operations, and global manufacturing. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for transforming ideas into market-leading products while developing scalable manufacturing operations that deliver business growth and operational excellence.

Chris served as Senior Director of Engineering at Edgewell Personal Care, where he worked across business units to improve operational efficiency, develop new manufacturing technologies, and support the deployment of scalable technical solutions across the enterprise. Over his tenure, he has held leadership roles spanning engineering, research and development, product development, operations, sustainability, consumer insights, packaging engineering, and acquisition integration.

A recognized product innovation leader, Chris has contributed to the development, commercialization, and operational scale-up of well-known consumer products and brands, including the Schick XTREME 3, INTUITION and HYDRO platforms. His work has spanned product development, automation, capital planning, tooling, manufacturing scale-up, continuous improvement, and long-range technology road mapping.

In addition to his corporate leadership, Chris serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of New Haven, teaching courses in Product Design, Engineering Economics, and Value Engineering. Through this role, he helps students connect engineering theory with real-world business and manufacturing applications while developing the next generation of engineering and innovation leaders.

As an Executive in Residence at the University of New Haven, Chris works closely with students, faculty, and industry partners to bridge the gap between classroom learning and professional practice. His combination of enterprise leadership, product innovation expertise, manufacturing operations experience, and entrepreneurial perspective provides students with practical insight into how ideas become products, products become businesses, and businesses achieve sustainable growth.
