Michael Ambrose '84, '19 Hon.

Mike Ambrose joined the University of New Haven Board of Governors in 2015 and has been the vice-chair position since 2020. Prior to serving on the Board of Governors, Mike served as President of the University of New Haven Alumni Association President from 2012 – 2014.

Mr. Ambrose is recently retired from Sikorsky Aircraft, a Lockheed Martin Co. after a 39-year career. He held many senior leadership positions at Sikorsky, most notably as Vice-President and Chief Engineer. Mike also held positions as the Vice-President of International Military Programs, Vice-President of Enterprise Business Transformation, and General Manager of Precision Components Manufacturing Center. He was awarded two U.S. patents while at Sikorsky. He currently serves as an Independent Board Director for RBC Bearings Inc.

Mr. Ambrose graduated summa cum laude from the University of New Haven. He earned a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management and System Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also received an honorary doctorate degree from the University of New Haven.

Mr. Ambrose has been inducted into both the University of New Haven Athletic and Engineering Hall-of-Fames.

Both of Mr. Ambrose’s children have degrees from the University of New Haven.
