Stephen Tagliatela, managing partner of the Saybrook Point Inn, Marina and Spa, has been elected chairman of the Board of Trustees of Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts of the University of New Haven. .

Tagliatela, who holds an honorary doctorate in business from UNH, has been on the Lyme Academy College board since October 2014. His term as chair is one year. He replaces co-chairs Robert W. Pratt, Jr., of Essex, and John Visgilio, of Old Lyme, who will remain on the board. They had been co-chairs since 2013.
Robert Manice of Newport, R.I., has been appointed vice chair of the board. Reappointed were Laura Lee Miller Bowes of Old Lyme, secretary, and Tracey Jacey of Groton, treasurer.
Tagliatela, a member of the UNH Board of Governors, also is co-owner of Franklin Construction, of New Haven, and the North Haven Health and Racquet Club. He is a licensed real estate broker.
He is a director of the Louis F. and Mary A. Tagliatela Family Foundation, which supports health care and education in the Greater New Haven area. The foundation established an endowed scholarship at UNH and is a generous benefactor of the university’s Tagliatela College of Engineering. It also contributes to the Albertus Magnus College School of Business.
A founding member of the Connecticut Tourism Coalition, Tagliatela is a charter member of the UNH’s Center for Family Business.
