Resident Student Move-In Information

Move-in for first-year residential students is Wednesday, August 24, and will occur in four shifts:

  • 8:00 - 10:00 a.m.
  • 10:30 a.m. - 12:20 p.m.
  • 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
  • 3:30 - 5:30 p.m.

Please move in during your assigned move in time. You recieved this information in an email from Residence Life.

We’ve prepared interactive maps that are specific to each residence hall and made several changes in order for us to provide you with the best Charge In experience possible. Please be sure to follow the instructions on your map, including which campus entrance you should arrive to and where you should check-in and park. There could be significant traffic and you may be delayed if you arrive via the incorrect entrance for your residence hall.

Charge In and orientation activities will continue for all first-year and transfers students on Friday, August 26, Saturday, August 27, and Sunday, August 28.

Commuter Student Check-In Information

Commuter students will be required to come to campus on Thursday, August 25 to check in for Charge In. Please view the full schedule on this page.

ReCharge in the Quad after moving in. Sit and enjoy food trucks, music, vendors, give aways, and have any questions answered.

New resident students are reminded to pick up their mailroom key.

7 p.m. Evening Activities
Come to the Quad for some fun interactive activites to end your day of move in. Inflatable Obstacle Course, Mini Golf, Ice Cream Bar, DIY Bamboo Plants.

New incoming commuter students will check in and recieve their student ID cards. To ensure an efficient check-in, make sure heal forms are in and bills have been paid.

10 - 11 a.m. Campus Safety and Transportation
The University of New Haven's Police Department will meet with students and assist them with their personal safety plans. They will also discuss the university's unique safety features that are provided for students, faculty and staff here at the university.

Start your academic journey as a new Charger with words of wisdom from keynote speaker Kevin Myatt and Interim President Sheahon Zenger. Meet faculty and staff as you learn about the Charger Compact, what it means to be a Charger, listen to the Marching Band, and learn the fight song.

New Commuters will meet with the commuter staff and upperclass peers to discuss commuter resources and upcoming commuter events.
