Charge In 2021: First-Year & Transfer Students

Your Plan for Arriving on Campus.

Monday, August 16 - Sunday, August 22

We hope that you are as excited as we are about the beginning of the Fall 2021 semester. Most of you will participate in VSOAR this summer, which is part one of the two-part orientation program at the University of New Haven. Part two of our orientation program is Charge In.

Charge In is designed to assist you to acclimate to the campus community and with your classmates. We have planned some very exciting, informative and interactive activities and events to help you with you transition to the Charger Community.

All students, resident or commuter, will come to campus during this time and participate. Charge In is mandatory for any new students (both first-year and transfer students, resident and commuter) from August 16 - 22. Residential students will be assigned a move-in day based on your housing assignment, which will be released in mid-July. Commuter students will also be assigned a day to return.

As you prepare to come to campus in August, it is imperative that you are familiar with all guidelines and policies that have been put in place by our COVID Task Force in collaboration with state and local public health officials. Included in those policies is the University's COVID-19 vaccination requirement for all students, faculty, and staff who will be on campus for the Fall 2021 semester. All students, faculty, and staff must upload their vaccination record to CoVerified, or request a vaccination exemption. You can find additional information at newhaven.edu/COVID19.

NOTE: All students with University-approved exemptions (unvaccinated or partially vaccinated students) MUST go to Charger Gymnasium for arrival testing. Go to Charger Gymnasium at least 30 minutes before your scheduled arrival time, to allow for testing and processing, before proceeding to your residence hall via the maps below.
