Charge In 2023: First-Year & Transfer Students

Your Plan for Arriving on Campus.

Commuter Student Check-In Info

Commuter students will be required to come to campus on the morning of Thursday, August 24 to check in for Charge In. Charge In and orientation activities will continue for all first-year and transfers students on Friday, August 25, Saturday, August 26, and Sunday, August 27.

A full schedule will be posted on this page, soon. Commuter Students will be provided meal vouchers to use while on campus on those four days.

Resident Student Move-In Info

Move-in for first-year and transfer residential students is Wednesday, August 23, and will occur in three shifts:

  • 7:30 - 10:00 a.m.
  • 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.
  • 1:30 - 4 p.m.

Please move in during your assigned move in time. You received this information from the Office of Residential Life and can find this in myHousing.

Charge In and orientation activities will continue for all first-year and transfers students on Friday, August 25, Saturday, August 26, and Sunday, August 27. A full schedule will be posted on this page, soon.

  • With over 600+ early arrival students coming for various departments and organizations across campus, we are unable to offer students outside of those departments and organizations an early arrival. However, as an alternative, on Saturday, August 19 the University will be hosting Charlie’s FastPass (CFP). If you have not participated in CFP before, this is an opportunity for you to book a one-hour appointment on August 19 and come to drop as much of your belongings off within that hour and pick-up your keys that day. Please note that CFP is not meant to begin setting up your space, or hanging up items, etc. but rather a time to alleviate the business of move-in. This will allow you to return on August 28th with as much of your items as you’ve brought during CFP and be ready for the semester. Sign-up for Charlie’s Fast Pass on myHousing.

Charge In Maps - Wed., Aug. 23

We’ve prepared interactive maps that are specific to each residence hall and made several changes in order for us to provide you with the best Charge In experience possible. Please be sure to follow the instructions on your map, including which campus entrance you should arrive to and where you should check-in and park. There could be significant traffic and you may be delayed if you arrive via the incorrect entrance for your residence hall.
