So, you want to be a CSI.

Do you have friends or family in law enforcement? Did you ever hear, “It’s not like it is on television”?

Imagine being able to experience what it is like to be a Crime Scene Investigator in real life.

The CSI Academy at the University of New Haven is like stepping into the real world of crime scene investigation and getting hands-on experience with the techniques seen in TV and movies, but taught the real-life way!

The CSI Academy offers hands-on experiences, discussions, and laboratory activities. While at the Academy, you will:

  • Learn about the history of policing, investigations, & Constitutional law
  • Write a Search Warrant
  • Process evidence for fingerprints
  • Cast footwear impressions
  • Investigate and document a crime scene
  • Collect and package evidence
  • Present your findings to a panel of real investigators

  • Students should have a strong interest in criminal justice, investigations, and/or forensic science.
  • Students must be entering 9th – 12th grade for the 2021-22 academic year.
