University of New Haven's Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering and Computer Sciences (ECECS) is the largest in the college and offers four undergraduate degrees and two masters degrees. The department offers degree programs in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. ECECS has a particular strength in incorporating the strength of the faculty in these closely related disciplines into its individual programs. This opportunity allows for a true interdisciplinary set of programs that brings together the core areas vital to understanding of information transfer computation, and electronics.
The mission of the department is to prepare students from diverse backgrounds for professional practice and continued growth in the fields of electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, and information technology. We provide students with the skills and basic background needed to become proficient in today's technology, as well as keep abreast of future developments in these fields.
