Transfer Application Process

Apply for Admission

The University of New Haven reviews applications for prospective transfer students on a rolling admissions process. This means that students can apply for admission at any time throughout the year and receive a decision shortly after submission of all required materials. We accept transfer applications for either our spring semester that begins in late January or our fall semester that begins in late August.

Although there is not a particular deadline, it is recommended that students apply as early as possible since space in some of our academic programs tends to fill up quickly. Typically, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions begins to review applications on September 1st for the following year's admission.

Students have the option of applying directly to the major of their choice or applying as an Undeclared Exploratory student. Applications will not be reviewed until all of the required materials have been received.

Please note that the University of New Haven is an exclusive member of the Common Application, and all transfer students must use this application to apply for admission. If you are having any trouble or have questions about the application, please feel free to contact a member of our Transfer Admissions Staff:

If your last name begins with A-L, contact Corinne Merjave at 203-215-9024 or cmerjave@newhaven.edu

If your last name begins with M-Z, contact Danielle Desjardins at 203-494-7734 or ddesjardins@newhaven.edu

If you have any trouble reaching any of our Transfer Counselors, please send an email to admissions@newhaven.edu and someone will get back to you as soon as possible!

Applying to UNH as a transfer student is a quick and convenient process. Our rolling admissions policy allows prospective students like you to receive a decision on your application within 2-3 weeks once your application file is complete.
