They are known as multitaskers, media infiltrated, techno junkies, and they exist in our classroom. They are known as the millennials. Born in the late 80’s and early 90’s, they have become one of the most talked about generations.
Who is the millennial generation? How do we teach them? How do they learn and what topics are they most interested in? These are just some of the questions that this workshop will answer while also looking at the influences through the media and pop culture that impact the K-12 classroom. You will learn…
· …the difference between a digital native and a digital immigrant.
· …what they like and don't like.
· …how they learn.
· …whether millennials are different from previous generations.
· …the pop culture of interest to them and its impact in the classroom
· …how literate they are in relation to all the media that surrounds their lives.
