Late Payment Policy

It is the responsibility of all University of New Haven students to pay his or her tuition and fee bill by the published due date in order to avoid a late payment fee. If your balance is not paid in full by the University’s established due date, a late payment fee equal to 1% of your outstanding balance will be assessed to your student account. Late fees will continue to accrue on your account each month an outstanding balance due remains. Balances resulting from incomplete financial aid requirements and missing sponsorship paperwork are also considered to be delinquent and subject to the assessment of a late fee.

Financial Hold

A hold will be placed on any student account that is not in good financial standing with the University. Holds will prevent students from accessing certain university services such as registering for classes, requesting transcripts, viewing grades and receiving a diploma.

Late Fee Appeal

Students who were assessed a late payment fee and feel they have extenuating circumstances which would make them eligible for a late fee waiver must complete the online Late Fee Waiver Request form below. A decision regarding your request will be sent to your University of New Haven student email account within 10 business days. All requests must be submitted within 30 days of the assessment of a late payment fee. Verbal appeals will not be accepted.

PLEASE NOTE: Late fee appeals can only be submitted on paid in full accounts.  If an account is not paid in full the appeal request will not be considered.
