The University community came together to celebrate the achievements of members of the Class of 2022 from underrepresented backgrounds. As part of the celebration, an alumna who is now a dedicated mental health advocate, business owner, and public speaker offered her encouragement and advice.
Nearly 1,300 graduates will be recognized during two ceremonies on May 15. The Commencement addresses will be given by Paul Lemmo, president of Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin Company, and Shelley Stewart, III, a senior partner with McKinsey & Company.
As part of Sikorsky’s STEM Challenge, local high school students interacted with industry professionals from the University and from Sikorsky, exploring possible careers and building skills in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math.
