Technology News (Apr. 25): “Researchers Find Viber 'Easy' To Hack [Asian News International]"

Researchers from UNH have discovered that the smartphone chat app Viber is much easier to hack when compared to other applications. They were able to intercept mobile data sent through Viber with relative ease, using a PC as a wireless access point for the phone. Ibrahim Baggili, member of UNH's cyber forensics and cyber security faculty says the purpose of the research is to make users aware about the risks they unknowingly face.
