New Haven Register, May 30, 2012: This summer, eight residential homes on southwest corner of the campus will be demolished to make way for a new 350-bed student residence hall that is expected to open in fall 2014. West Haven Mayor John Picard ’87 praised the University for its continued growth. “It’s great for the city and improving the West Haven community,” he said. “It will bring revenue, temporary jobs during building and more housing. I’m very excited for their growth.”
