Record-Journal, April 15, 2012: Meriden police continue to search for two men in connection with separate rapes in the downtown area. In both cases, police say the victim did not know her attacker and descriptions given by the victims point to two different assailants. “The number is high that the people know each other,” said John DeCarlo, assistant professor of Criminal Justice at UNH and former Branford police chief. “To all of a sudden have these two horrific crimes in a short span of time in a small geographic area, that’s very unusual.”
