Student Involvement

Ways for Students to get Involved

The Center for Human Trafficking recognizes the importance of engaging students in the fight against human trafficking. We provide numerous opportunities for students to get involved and make a difference.

Our student organization, Students Against Trafficking in Persons (SATIP), allows students to raise awareness about human trafficking on campus and in the local community. SATIP holds awareness events, partners with local anti-trafficking organizations, and advocates for policy changes. Members gain valuable experience in areas like event planning, communications, advocacy and more.

We also recruit student volunteers to help with needs like research, communications, event assistance and more. Volunteering with the Center is a great way for students to learn about human trafficking while contributing their time and talents.

In addition, we plan to offer internship opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students interested in gaining hands-on experience in anti-trafficking work. Interns will collaborate with our staff on projects, programs and campaigns. They have the chance to conduct research, organize events, create materials, and more. These internships provide excellent professional development for students.

Through club membership, volunteering and internships, the Center for Human Trafficking provides impactful opportunities for students to engage with our mission. By getting involved, students gain valuable skills and experience while making a difference in the fight against modern-day slavery. We encourage all students passionate about social justice issues to consider contributing their time and talents to the Center.
