New Haven Biz: UNH’s School of Health Sciences to Pursue Planetree Certification

The University of New Haven’s School of Health Sciences is endeavoring to become one of the first in the nation to obtain higher education certification from Planetree International, an organization that focuses on patient-centered care. Summer McGee, dean of the school of health sciences, says that certification from Planetree is a critical component of incorporating person-centered care into health sciences education.

University of New Haven police officer, Lars Vallin, receives praise from law enforcement leaders for recently stopping a felony in progress in the off-campus community. Ronald Quagliani, associate vice-president of public safety and administrative services, remarked positively on Vallin’s work and the connection with West Haven. President Steve Kaplan also commended Vallin.
