University of New Haven: Greg Overend

Greg Overend

Greg Overend has been the Director for the Center for Student Engagement, Leadership and Orientation since August of 2003 when he joined the UNH community. He graduated in 1993 from Eastern Connecticut State University with a bachelor's degree in Accounting and Economics and in 1996 graduated from Rider University with his Masters in Human Services Administration.

During the academic year, he is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Center for Student Engagement, Leadership and Orientation.

Greg is in charge of all aspects of orientation programming.

Ladarius Thompson

 LaDarius Thompson

LaDarius joined the Center for Student Engagement, Leadership and Orientation as the Associate Director for the Center for Student Engagement, Leadership and Orientation in the Spring of 2015.  LaDarius graduated from University of South Carolina Upstate in Spartanburg, SC with a Bachelor of Arts in Nonprofit Administration in 2010. In 2012, LaDarius received his Masters of Science in Counseling from Pace University. During his time at Pace, LaDarius served as a Residence Director and Orientation Coordinator. After receiving his Masters degree, LaDarius worked professionally in Delaware and South Carolina.

 

LaDarius is in charge of Family Orientation.

University of New Haven - Shelissa Newball

 Shelissa Newball

Shelissa attended Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT where she received her Bachelor’s in African American Studies. In 2008 she received her Masters degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of Connecticut. Shelissa is the Assistant Director for Greek Life and Leadership for the Center for Student Engagement, Leadership and Orientation.

Colleen joined the Center for Student Engagement, Leadership and Orientation in Spring 2014 as the Coordinator of Student Activities.  Colleen is an alumnae of the University of New Haven where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Forensic Science and Chemistry in 2011.  She received her Master of Science degree in 2014 in Counseling with a specialization in Student Development and Higher Education from Central Connecticut State University. She is the Coordinator of Campus Programming for the Center for Student Engagement, Leadership and Orientation.

Melinda Hill

 Melinda Hill

Melinda joined the Center for Student Engagement, Leadership and Orientation in the Fall of 2014. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island in 2010 and completed her Master of Science in Counseling and College Student Personnel at the University of Bridgeport in 2014. Melinda is the Office Coordinator for Student Organizations and Operations for the Center for Student Engagement, Leadership and Orientation.
