About

I teach sport marketing and international sport management courses at the Sport Management Department. My research is focused on understanding sport fans’ and spectators’ behaviors and decision making processes. With my recent research studies, I investigate unique aspects of women’s sporting events, and influence of media and marketing on women’s sports. I utilize my research in sport marketing courses at both undergraduate and graduate level.

Before coming to US, I played professional basketball for eight years in Turkey. During that eight-year period, I became familiar with the sport structure in Europe at professional and amateur levels. I draw examples from my overseas experience in sport industry both as an athlete and a coach in International Sport Management course and present differences in sports around the world and help students gain international perspective.
