East Hampton Resident Chosen for College Academic Day Honors at State Capitol

West Haven, Conn., March 18, 2008-The University of New Haven (UNH) has selected East Hampton resident Michael Folcik '09, a computer engineering major, for an official citation from the Connecticut General Assembly for outstanding academic achievement as part of College Academic Day at the Capitol in Hartford on Wednesday, April 9. Folcik was selected for the honor for his outstanding academic achievement and campus involvement. He has been a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta national honor society since 2006, is founder and leader of the UNH Robotics Club, is a teaching assistant in the Engineering Department and mentored middle-school students during the first UNH Engineering and Science Summer Institute for Young Women, in 2007.

Since 1998, the Connecticut General Assembly has honored students from the Connecticut universities and colleges for their academic achievements. While attending College Academic Day the students are introduced in the House and Senate chambers, receive a citation, and attend a reception in their honor.
