Celebrate Halloween weekend with us on campus!
The Student Committee of Programming Events (SCOPE) is hosting several events all weekend long, including the Halloween Block Party at 7:30 p.m., on Friday, in the Bixler/Gerber Quad, and a slew of other activities on Saturday!
Also, cheer on the Women's Field Hockey team as they host Adelphi in their Pink Game at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Join the Office of Graduate and International Student Life, Indian Student Council, and SCOPE in celebrating Diwali!
Diwali is India's most important festival of the year, and a time to celebrate the triumph of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and good over evil.
Join the celebration on Friday, Oct. 28, starting at 3 p.m., at the Beckerman Recreation Center.

REMINDER: On-campus flu vaccine clinic - Oct. 28
A second flu vaccine clinic is being offered to all students, faculty, and staff on Friday, October 28, in the Nicholson Health Center on the ground floor of Sheffield Hall.
Appointments are available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and can be made by calling 203-932-7079 or by stopping by the Nicholson Health Center.

Philosophy professor to host lecture about misology, critical virtues - Nov. 1
Professor Douglas Ficek, Ph.D., senior lecturer, philosophy, is set to host “Misology, Bull$#!t, and Critical Virtues,” a discussion about an ancient concern of Socrates – misology.
Professor Ficek will also argue that critical thinking, as well as intellectual virtue, must be cultivated in order to address these epistemic problems, but that this cultivation, while necessary, is ultimately not sufficient.
The lecture will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 1, from 5 - 6:15 p.m., in Gehring Hall, Room 301.

The Math & Physics Dept. presents "A Short Tutorial on AI Explainability," with Dr. Mohamad Nassar, assistant professor, electrical & computer engineering and computer science.
Join the tutorial on Wednesday, Nov. 2, from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m., via Zoom.
This workshop will present the framework of explainability in artificial intelligence in general, basic methods, and a summary of a few recent research papers in this domain.

The Financial Wellness Cashparency Series continues with its next workshop, Saving for Success, which will offer advice on ways to save for your future. Earn PEP Credit by attending.
The workshop, hosted by Dave Galla of M&T Bank, will be held Thursday, Nov. 3, from 1 - 2 p.m., via Zoom.
In this session, we'll explore the options and benefits of long-range systematic savings. With the increased media coverage of speculative investment options, this session will discuss options available for all investors and strategies for successful long-range financial well-being.

Russian Movie Night: "Broken Ties" - Nov. 3
Russian Movie Night will feature "Broken Ties," a documentary directed by independent Russian journalist and film maker Andrei Loshak.
This film portrays several different families in Ukraine and Russia who are divided by war. Their conversations with Loshak extend over the war’s first three months.
The film will be shown on Thursday, Nov. 3, from 4 - 6 p.m., in Maxcy Hall, Room 126, followed by an open discussion.

The Tow Youth Justice Institute, in collaboration with the Women’s Leadership Fund, will be hosting the first-ever Women of Justice Networking event at the University next week.
All University students, staff, and faculty are invited to attend the event on Tuesday, Nov. 1, from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., in Alumni Lounge, Bartels Hall, the Campus Center.
