Our Undergraduate Admissions team is ready to guide your students through the Common App, College Essays, and how to choose the right school.

Common Application

Counselors from the University of New Haven visit high schools to discuss the Common Application, provide recommendations to high school juniors about the importance of various sections of the application, and answer questions about the admissions process.

College Essay

Representatives from the University of New Haven Office of Undergraduate Admissions and the University's English Department will present an essay writing 101 workshop. This presentation will discuss the importance of the college essay, recommend topics, and ideas for students to write about, and it will provide insight on how to make a student’s college essay the best it can be.

College Step-By-Step Group

(Juniors, then matriculate into their Senior Year)

Students visit the University of New Haven to receive overview of the admissions process and to participate in a campus tour with a current University of New Haven student.

Students receive a behind-the-scenes look at the Admissions process from a representative of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, who will provide insight on the college application essay and the college interview.

First-Year Friday or Sophomore Scholars

Counselors from the University of New Haven Office of Undergraduate Admissions can come and host an assembly to speak about the importance of college planning. University representatives can provide insight on the importance of college visits, college interviews, high school grades, high school involvement, and how all of this relates to the college decision and the admissions selection process.
