The University of New Haven offers both an associate degree and a bachelor's degree in Paramedicine.

We offer our students a learning environment filled with problem-solving, critical thinking, and “systems-thinking” in order to ensure a strong base on which to build.

Our emphasis on anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology provides students with the tools needed to address basic and advanced pre-hospital medicine both today and in the future.

This program provides a clear educational path for those seeking employment as firefighter/paramedics

- Peter Struble, Fire Chief & Program Coordinator

Our programs exceed all Department of Transportation (DOT) National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) National Standard Curriculum and National Education Standard’s objectives and include optional skills adopted by many states. We practice evidence driven medical practice and education. The paramedicine degree is directed toward students who take responsibility for their own education, growth, and development, and especially for the professional behavior and attitude necessary for the practitioners and leaders of EMS in the future. Upon completion, students will be eligible to sit for the National Registry Paramedic exam.

Prepare for the next step.

If you think that a career in a health-related field might be in your future, the Pre-Health Professions (PHP) Scholars Program is the place for you to start. Students who successfully complete the PHP Scholars Program will have the grades, the coursework, the clinical experiences, and the in-depth knowledge of healthcare that can serve as the launch pad for pursuing a top healthcare job or graduate program.
