About Jean

As Vice President and Chief of Staff to President Steven Kaplan, Jean oversees human resources and the Office of the President, and serves as the President’s liaison to all units across the University. She manages key relationships with internal and external constituencies, collaborates on institutional strategies and initiatives with the senior leadership team, oversees projects on behalf of the President, and serves as the board secretary for the University’s Board of Governors.

Before joining the University, Jean served most recently as Vice President for Human Resources at Quinnipiac University, leading all aspects of the human resources agenda. Prior to serving as chief human resources officer, she was the Vice President/Executive Associate to former Quinnipiac President John Lahey, serving as his close advisor and deputy assistant. Before Quinnipiac, Jean worked at Iona College in New Rochelle, N.Y., where she held positions including Director of Institutional Research, Executive Assistant to the Provost, Director of Graduate Admissions for Arts and Science, and was an Adjunct Faculty member in the department of economics.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in business and economics from Cornell College in Iowa, a master’s degree in economics from Northern Illinois University, and an MBA from Quinnipiac University.
