Explore Professions in Finance, Accounting & Analytics
Developed by the Pompea College of Business, this five-day in-person program will introduce young women to the fields of banking, financial planning, accounting, wealth management, and more! Through sessions led by successful professional women in finance, attendees will be mentored in the STEM-based skill sets while also being empowered to develop their own leadership qualities. This program includes two field trips to Connecticut-based firms to experience the corporate environment in-person.
Participants will:
- Be introduced to interactive financial software (including FACTSET)
- Design their own portfolio project
- Practice interview skills through virtual & live mock interview sessions
- Create or fine-tune a cover letter and resume
By the end of the program, participants will be able to:
- Define the roles and needed skill sets of various finance professions
- Reflect on personal traits, attributes and ethics that are consistent with various professional roles and skills
- Be attentive to current events and its impact on financial markets
Students upon successful completion will received 3 college credits from the University of New Haven equivalent to BUSA 4450.
Requirements
Students must be entering 10th grade-freshman year of college for the 2022-23 academic year.
