Introducing Charger 360, the University's New Video Podcast!
Charger 360 is the official video podcast of the University of New Haven and it's launching right now. Each episode will feature guests from across the University with the goal of, as the show's name implies, giving you a 360-degree view of the amazing things going on in Charger Nation. From academics, to athletics, to student life, and beyond, we'll cover it all, and have some fun in the process.
The first episode, featuring Interim President Sheahon Zenger, is available now at newhaven.edu/charger360. Look for future episodes to be shared here in the Weekly Roundup, on the University's website, social media, YouTube, and more!

Celebration of Life for Sri Ram Kalidindi ’24 M.S. and Martin Flores ’23 M.A.
University of New Haven students, faculty, and staff, are invited to celebrate the lives of Sri Ram Kalidindi ’24 M.S. and Martin Flores ’23 M.A. during a memorial service on Tuesday, Feb. 28, at 3:30 p.m. in the Beckerman Recreation Center.
Sri Ram died in the early morning hours of January 31 in his off-campus residence. A native of Vijayawada, India, he joined our community at the start of the spring semester to pursue a master’s degree in Business Analytics.
Martin passed away February 24 as the result of injuries sustained in a mountain bike accident that took place at West Rock Ridge State Park in Hamden. A native of Wilton, Calif., Martin joined our community in the Fall of 2021 to pursue a master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. He was preparing to accept his degree at Commencement in the spring. The University will recognize him posthumously as part of the ceremony.

Men's Basketball Continues Postseason Run, Advances to Wednesday's NE10 Semis
Majur Majak had 11 points, 13 boards, and six blocked shots, while Devontrey Thomas and Ty Perry combined to make nine 3-pointers, guiding the men's basketball team to a 75-59 victory over crosstown rival Southern Connecticut State at Charger Gymnasium earlier this evening. A raucous crowd of Charger Nation faithful helped propel to the team to victory, giving No. 4 seed New Haven (19-9) a berth in the Northeast-10 Conference Championship Semifinals.
Wednesday night's game pits the Chargers against No. 1 So. New Hampshire (20-7), and is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip in Manchester, N.H. The winner of that contest will advance to the NE10 title game on Saturday, March 4.

Don't Miss This Summer Research Opportunity: Application Open March 6-20
The 2023 Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program is a 10-week research experience planned for May 30 - August 4. Undergraduate students from all years (with the exception of seniors graduating before December 2023) are eligible to apply and projects from all disciplines, including interdisciplinary projects, are encouraged.
The SURF program is highly competitive and a limited number of faculty-mentored research projects will be funded through the generosity of the David McHale Fund and the Carrubba Endowment. Projects may be conducted in virtual, hybrid, or on-campus formats. To support fellows, SURF provides a virtual learning community for sharing expertise and research as well as required synchronous virtual seminars.
The online application opens March 6, and applications must be submitted by Monday, March 20, at noon.

ARC Did You Know... Title IX and Pregnancy/Childbirth
Did you know? Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 prohibits discrimination against a student based on pregnancy, childbirth, false pregnancy, termination of pregnancy, or recovery from any of these conditions:
- Students seeking accommodations may contact ARC to schedule an appointment. The Dean of Students Office may also assist and facilitate communications with professors.
- Students are expected to regularly and promptly attend and participate in their classes.
- Students seeking modified attendance must meet all course requirements as stated in the course syllabus. They are responsible for communicating with their professor and obtaining all material and notes from missed classes.

- Summer II 2023 (Accelerated Term): June 29 - August 16

Apply to be an Orientation & Transition Leader
Orientation & Transition Leaders (OTLs) assist new students and families in the adjustment of becoming members of the University of New Haven community during both the summer and fall. OTLs are among the first representatives with which new students and families connect, and they are responsible for leaving a positive and enthusiastic impression about the Charger community.
For Summer 2023, OTLs will participate in the Student Orientation Advising and Registration (SOAR) program in June and July, supporting first-year students and their family members. OTLs will complete a comprehensive two-week training in June, help with the execution of the SOAR program, help with transfer student orientation days, return to campus mid-August to support fall Charge In and Welcome Week programming, engage with assigned first-year students throughout the first eight weeks of the fall semester, and other duties as assigned.

This program is run by the Office of Alumni Relations and the University of New Haven Alumni Association and allows you to partake in fun challenges around campus. Winners will be drawn for each challenge.
In honor of Feel-Good February, we want to make sure our fellow Chargers are feeling good. To show your gratitude and appreciation toward a University of New Haven faculty or staff member, write a thank-o-gram! Residents were concerned the issues were related to the derailment of a train two weeks ago in Ohio that was carrying toxic chemicals.

The University of New Haven has again earned a place on Military Friendly’s list of best schools for veterans, earning a gold designation for 2022-2023.
Our Office of Military and Veteran Affairs, which dedicated a new space on campus this past fall, works to make the transition from military to civilian life a little easier for students. The ranking also gives the University especially high marks for its financial aid, academic support, and graduation and career outcomes.
