Part-Time, Accelerated Undergraduate Programs

Accounting - The accelerated accounting major is designed for students who wish to pursue a career in management accounting or in public accounting leading to the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) license. While the study of accounting has its roots in economic theory, the courses emphasize practical application to real-world problems and the decision-making process. Accounting promotes an application for not only the nature of accounting information but also the use of that information in complex decision-making by individuals, business firms, and government. The integration of business law, taxation, and finance into the program requirements provides the necessary academic background to meet the challenges of the accounting profession.


Business Administration
- The need for educated individuals in management has never been greater. Contemporary managers must direct their attention to an increasingly competitive global marketplace and delivery of quality products and services, all while managing the organization's interaction with both its internal and its external environments.  The accelerated business program seeks to provide students with the foundation of knowledge and skills necessary for securing positions of responsibility in management. The study of theories and methods of analyzing decisions will prepare students for their professional introduction into the realm of management as well as sharpen the skills of those already holding organizational positions.


Liberal Studies
- The Liberal Studies major is an interdisciplinary program of study which allows students to develop individualized programs of study through a broad-based education in liberal arts & sciences.  The flexible nature of this program permits student to integrate courses from across the university for the achievement of personalized educational goals. It promotes the acquisition of practical knowledge and skills required by the job market which may be directed toward the realization of specific career goals not met by other programs.  Students work closely with the liberal studies advisor to design the elective portion of their program. The flexibility of the program allows for the maximum use of prior credits that can be transferred towards this degree. Students will select 16 of their courses in two of the following focus areas:

Public Administration
- Public administration is a rich and challenging multidisciplinary field that addresses both philosophical and social science perspectives that influence the nature of organizations. The Public Administration program is designed to develop skill sets that impact on the personal and professional effectiveness of people working in public, non-profit, voluntary, and private organizations. Graduates of the program are prepared to enter the workforce or advance to leadership positions in these organizations with a sense of commitment to social purpose, the public interest, and effective public problem-solving.
