In a Season of Giving and Receiving,
A Thank You to the University Community

The holidays are a time to give thanks for all that we have. In the spirit of the season, I want to thank you for all that you do for the University of New Haven.

In these challenging times, I am infinitely grateful that you continue to support the efforts of the University. America has always been, and continues to be, a land of opportunity, and education is often the ladder that helps talented individuals become leaders and enables leaders to protect, nurture and sustain our democracy.

Your support of education makes a world of difference. Thank you again.

Sincerely,

Steven H. Kaplan
President

UNH Football Players:
Miami Dolphins Head Coach and Football Alums
Celebrate Return of the Sport at Florida Event

Back in the day, UNH’s football team broke records and was nationally recognized. Today, former players are more than a little pumped that football is back at UNH. Recently, Miami Dolphins Head Coach Tony Sparano – a former UNH football coach and player – and former University football players met in Florida to share stories from days gone by and celebrate the return of football. The former football players, who traveled from as far as California and Wisconsin to attend the event, say they look forward to supporting UNH Head Coach Peter Rossomando and getting to know the team. Below: West Haven Mayor John Picard, second from left, stopped by the event to present Sparano, left, with the key to the city of West Haven. To Picard’s right is Bill Leete, UNH special assistant to the president for athletic advancement and outreach, and alumnus Dave Peterson ’88, who organized the get-together, which the group hopes to make an annual occurrence.
