UNH Presents New England Premiere Of "columbinus" This Week
Beginning Wednesday, Nov. 7, UNH’s Theatre Program presents the New England premiere of "columbinus", a play sparked by the April 1999 massacre at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. Peter Marks of the Washington Post called the play, "An ambitious examination of the suburbanization of evil.” The play weaves together excerpts of discussions with parents, survivors and community leaders in Littleton as well as diaries and home video footage to bring to light the dark recesses of American adolescence. It probes the psychological warfare of alienation, hostility, and social pressure that goes on in high schools across America. Performances are Wednesday, Nov. 7 through Saturday, Nov. 10 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 11 at 5 p.m. in Dodds Theatre. Admission is free for UNH students, faculty, and staff. Non-UNH students are $5 and all others $10. For more information call ext. 4512. Talkbacks will follow each performance. Click here to learn which faculty and staff will lead them.
