UNH Library Extends Hours
Effective Monday, Oct. 20, the library’s new schedule is: Mondays through Thursdays, 7 a.m. to midnight; Fridays, 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m. to midnight. Extended hours will be offered during finals. The new library hours also are posted here.
Farewell to a Fellow Professor
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Dr. David Morris, a professor of Marketing at the University who died April 25 while on a visit to Florida, will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12 in the Alumni Lounge of Bartels Hall, the campus center. An innovative poet, author and teacher, Dr. Morris served as a visiting professor at business schools throughout the world. A scholarship fund in his name has been established. To meet the goal of endowing the fund in perpetuity, donations are gratefully encouraged by his family. Prominent State Politicians
Lead Faculty Lunch Discussion
A former Republican legislator and the Democratic head of the House Judiciary Committee will kick off the first program of the Faculty Brown-Bag Lunch Series ‘Elections 2008: A Turning Point for America,” at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29 in the third-floor Moulton Lounge in Bartels Hall, the campus center. The discussion, featuring Larry DeNardis, a Republican, former member of both the Connecticut Senate and House, and past president of the University of New Haven and Michael Lawlor, a Democrat, UNH associate professor of Criminal Justice, and state representative who chairs the House Judiciary Committee, is open to all faculty members. Campus-Community Partnership Summit
The Academic Service-Learning Office is offering a full-day workshop to local community-based organizations who would like to partner with the University to address community issues. Faculty members interested in service-learning are strongly encouraged to attend. UNH Bids Farewell to a Longtime Employee
Virginia Zawoy, Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, is retiring after many productive years of service to the UNH community. Throughout her career, Virginia has worked with institutional and individual donors to advance University programs and projects. The farewell reception will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, in the lobby of Dodd’s Hall. Refreshments will be served.
Director of Marketing At UNH Is Named
Susan Pranulis has been named Director of University Marketing at UNH. In her new position, Susan will work with members of the campus community to visually communicate the University's message in accordance with creative strategy, branding and target audience integration. She is a member of the University’s Web Steering Committee and received the 2006 University of New Haven Excellence in Innovation and Creativity Award for her design work on the new UNH Web site.
