Off-Campus Housing Fair
An information and roommate-matching session will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 14 in the Dodds Hall lobby for students who are interesting in securing off-campus housing for the next academic year. Get information on signing leases and obtaining renters’ insurance, and talk to representatives from local apartment complexes.
Latest Lyme Disease Findings Highlighted
At National Conference at UNH May 17
Free to Campus - Register by May 13
Lyme disease is the most prevalent tick-borne disease in the United States, costing about $1 billion a year due to inappropriate medical care, lost productivity and legal fees associated with misdiagnosis. The latest research on the diagnosis and treatment will be presented at the national conference “Understanding and Treating Lyme Disease: Choices and Challenges” on Saturday, May 17, at Dodds Theatre. The conference is free to UNH students, faculty and staff and open to the public for a $65 registration fee. Register by Tuesday, May 13. The event includes an evening networking reception for Lyme disease patients. Dr. Eva Sapi, associate professor of Biology and Environmental Sciences at UNH, is the conference organizer. Seton Gallery Showcases Student Work
The Seton Gallery hosted the University’s 2008 Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition this past Thursday, and dozens of appreciative viewers turned out to applaud the effort and the art. The exhibit runs through June 6. Gallery times are 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays, 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Fridays, and noon to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
It’s That Time Again
Nominations are now being accepted for April’s Student Leader and Club or Organization of the Month. Remember, these are individuals or groups that have demonstrated excellence and have gone above and beyond their call of duty. The deadline for nominations is Tuesday, May 13. A Dinner for Dr. Johnson
The Oak Lane Golf and Country Club will host a retirement dinner for Dr. Thomas A. Johnson beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, June 6. The cost for the event is $40, which includes dinner, gratuity, contribution toward the retirement gift and musical entertainment. A table for six may be reserved for $240. Midnight Breakfast
Volunteers are needed from 9 p.m. to midnight to help with the midnight breakfast Wednesday, May 14. The event will run from 10 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with faculty and staff cooking and serving students during examination time. Students will not be charged for the event. Celebrate Asian Pacific Heritage Month at the Marketplace
The Marketplace will feature food from countries such as Japan, Thailand, The Philippines, Singapore, Hawaii and India in a tribute to Asian Pacific Heritage Month. Dinner will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, May 12 in Bartels Hall, the campus center where several prizes and giveaways will also take place.
New Masters Program in New London
UNH’s Southeastern campus recently announced the addition of a Master of Science in Professional Education, focusing on current trends in the classroom. In kicking off the program, UNH Southeastern will offer a free seminar with CEU credits for teachers from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, May 22 in the Weller Center at Mitchell College. Help Stop Hunger
Now through May 12 you may donate $1 or $5 at all dining locations on campus to help stop hunger. Your entire donation will go to those in need. Farewell Reception
A farewell reception for Dr. Thomas A. Johnson will be held from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 20 in the Alumni Lounge of Bartels Hall, the campus center. Dr. Johnson will be departing UNH after 13 years as the dean of the Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences. Come out to thank him for all the work he has done for UNH.

Last Man Standing
Click here for more photos of “Last Man Standing,” which included challenges such as putting together a puzzle, stringing together three boxes of paper clips, finding 1,200 plastic Army figures hidden in the Maxcy quad, and participating in a cross-campus scavenger hunt. Drew Hodlin won this weekend’s Undergraduate Student Association’s “Last Man Standing” competition for standing in inclement weather for 12 hours and 28 minutes. Congratulations, Drew!
Sophomores, Come Out for Dinner
With the graduation halfway mark for sophomores almost reached, the Class of 2010, the Office of Student Activities and MEISA are sponsoring a dinner and a concert featuring PETCO, Perish Hill and Who Needs Heroes from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, May 12 exclusively for sophomores.

Final Day for
Women’s Clinic Appointments
There is only one day left this semester for students to make appointments at the campus Women’s Clinic: Thursday, May 15, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Services include yearly gynecological check-ups, pap smear testing, STD testing, diagnosis of vaginal infections, prescriptions for birth control, Depo Provera injections, contraceptives discussion and pregnancy testing. Staff can also answer questions regarding your health and sexuality, the new HPV Vaccine and ways to obtain that vaccine. Call ext. 7079 for more information.
Summer Help Wanted in the Seton Gallery
The Seton Gallery is currently accepting resumes for summer employment to run from May 22 through August 10, 2008. Duties may include monitoring the gallery during open hours, mailing postcards and preparing flyers for upcoming events, and assisting with the installation of artwork. Students qualified for this position must enjoy working with the public, be dependable, be able to represent the University in a positive way, and be computer literate with database knowledge.
