UNH Dance Team Entertains
Local Retirement Community

UNH’s 5-6-7-8 Dance Team put on a mesmerizing performance recently for residents at Ashlar Village, a retirement community in Wallingford. After the show, residents learned about team members’ academic majors and goals. Residents have already requested a return visit. Says Team Captain Ashley Rossi, “During high school, my dance team and I would perform at local retirement homes, especially during the holiday season. Dancing at Ashlar Village reminded me of that same rewarding experience I had back at home, especially with all of the warm smiles and positive remarks the dance team received after our performance."

Student clubs interested in visiting the Ashlar Village community to perform, complete an activity with residents, or present a project should contact Katie Farren at kfarren@newhaven.edu. UNH and Masonicare, Ashlar Village's parent company, are negotiating a partnership to offer programming to residents, as well as customized training for company employees.
