Mike Kuzoian ’10, center, and Mike Minelli, ’10, right, members of the award-winning hip-hop dance crew, E3, along with Ron-Adrian Libatique, a student at Central Connecticut State University, at right, won the semi-finals of Amateur Night at the Apollo Theater March 26, and are headed to New York Saturday, April 5 for a taped audition on the popular television show “America’s Got Talent.” To prepare, the group will be holding public dance rehearsals for the competition from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, April 3 and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, April 4 in the David A. Beckerman Recreation Center on the UNH campus.

E3 will compete in the Super Top Dog competition at the Apollo in December 2008 for a $25,000 prize, thanks to the leadership of their erstwhile and able manager Marquis Bell, a UNH senior, and the support of dozens of UNH students who boarded a bus to the Apollo to support the three dancers March 26. Seniors and Freshmen: We want to hear from you!
Is your educational experience engaging enough? As part of the University’s focus on continuous improvement and student-centered education, we participate each year in the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE), aka “the Nessie.” All freshmen and seniors are being contacted now through email by the NSSE organization in Indiana, on behalf of UNH, to solicit their participation. This year, we begin participation also in the Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (FSSE), or “the Fussie”. These surveys will reach all our faculty in the coming weeks. A high response rate is important, so seniors and freshmen, please fill out the brief survey and tell us how we’re doing! We use the data from these surveys to identify areas where further improvement is required, to highlight what we do well, and to track our improvements since earlier surveys. Faculty, be watching your inboxes—your turn is coming up.
